When it comes to coin series’, very few are as popular as the Beatrix Potter 50ps.
Since they were issued back in 2016, each release has continued to be incredibly sought-after by collectors.
And understandably, collectors have A LOT of questions about this hugely popular series.
Questions that we wanted to answer.
So in our latest video Rachel and I do just that.
Whether you want to know how rare the Beatrix Potter coins really are or if there will be any more Beatrix Potter coins released this year, make sure you watch our latest video to find out.

PLEASE CAN WE HAVE SOME MORE OF THESE COINS AS THEY INSPIRE THE YOUNGER ONES TO COLLECT.
ALSO CAN WE HAVE SOME RUPERT AND FRIENDS FOR THE 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY NEXT YEAR. THEY WOULD BE VERY POPULAR.
I agree, the coins have really encouraged younger audiences to start collecting the complete Beatrix Potter collection! That’s a great idea about the Rupert coins and it would be amazing to see, especially considering how popular children’s literature 50ps have proven recently. Thanks for your comment, I hope you liked the Q&A video? Adam.
any new releases of beatrix potter coins for 2019?
Hi Deborah, currently there has only been one 2019 Beatrix Potter 50p released and it featured Peter Rabbit. You can find it here: https://www.westminstercollection.com/p-860N/2019-UK-Peter-Rabbit-CERTIFIED-BU-50p.aspx
Hope that helps, Adam.
Hi, is it correct that there is no limit to the 2018 and 2019 mint uncirculated A to Z coins but the circulated A to Z coins are limited. 2018 now been at 5.2 million and 2019 only at 2.1 million. If so is it then better to have the circulated coins as although not mint condition but much rarer than the circulated coins.
Kind regards
John Drury
Hi John, You are correct in thinking the 2018 and 2019 Uncirculated A-Z 10p coins issued from The Royal Mint don’t have an edition limit, however as we don’t know how many of these have been struck by The Mint we can’t confirm which are more rare. Although, the Uncirculated quality of these coins – meaning they are free from the scratches and blemishes of normal circulation coins – is what collectors really value. Also, it’s worth remembering that although there are currently only 2.1 million 2019 A-Z 10ps, more could be released before the end of the year! Having either the circulated or uncirculated set is a great addition to any collection – and having both would be the dream! Hope that helps 🙂 Adam
i only need two more to complete the last set
thanks for producing such beautiful coins
thanks Iain
Hi Iain, that’s amazing! I’m glad you love the collection as much as we all do. You’ll be able to find the two coins missing from your collection here: http://www.westminstercollection.com/beatrixpotterbirthday

Hi Peter, sorry to hear it wasn’t working for you. Try this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNrPiiXeuk4
Hopefully that will work for you, Adam.
I have them all ,at thistime how much are they worth, not that I’m going to sell
Hi Malcolm, Unfortunately we are unable to value coins. However, Change Checker have put together a helpful and realistic six point guide to help you figure out what your coin might be worth. Check it out here: http://www.changechecker.org/TheSixPointGuide
Rachel and I also discuss the Six Point Guide in the video on the blog, so feel free to check that out 🙂
Thanks, Adam
You say in your video that the 2016 jemima puddle duck is the rarest beatrix potter at 2,100,000. (Royal mint figures). Does this include the extra puddle duck coins that were minted (and back dated) in 2017 and 2018 that were sold to 228 group and of course yourselves.
Regards Phil Matthews.
Hi Phil, The 2016 Jemima Puddle-Duck is currently the rarest 50p coin in circulation from the Beatrix Potter series – although we don’t have the mintage figures of the 2018 coins yet! Brilliant Uncirculated quality coins are not taken into account for these figures as they are not intended for circulation.
Are they going to be any more in 2019 after Peter rabbit
Hi Jim, currently there aren’t any further confirmed releases for the Beatrix Potter collection in 2019. Is there a particular character you were hoping to see from Beatrix Potter’s stories on the next coin? Adam
Will there be a Album or something like a Storybook with all the Beatrix Potters Coins in together..
Hi Robert, currently there isn’t an album or storybook with all the Beatrix Potter coins together, but that’s a great idea! The complete set is available here if you wanted more information: https://www.westminstercollection.com/p-806W/The-Complete-Collection-of-Beatrix-Potter-50ps.aspx
Thanks for the comment! Adam.
So we learn only one coin out of the full sets is worth anything over and above face. Cheers. It wouldn’t have hurt the mint to produce one low mintage coin in the 2017 and 2018 sets, would it?
