As you know there’s no shortage of great authors celebrated on our coinage – from classic children’s authors like Beatrix Potter and Julia Donaldson, to Victorian greats like Charles Dickens and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle – there’s a big selection of coins to choose from!

I need your help in shortlisting the FIVE most popular British Isles coins that celebrate the works of authors who have transported us to Victorian Britain, the hundred acre wood and everywhere in between.

HG Wells my favourite
I have chosen Raymond Briggs as the author of the Snowman which appeals to all age groups both young and old. Not only are the books well written but the coins represent exactly the Royal Mints portrayal of the characters.
The Shakespeare set is my favourite. All three are beautifully designed and worthy of the great Bard.
It has to be the snowman coin which appeals to youg and old alike.

We are reminded of Charles Dickens every Christmas.
And will be for years to come.
Also, Christmas would not be Christmas without one of the Classic movies from Dickens story books.The set of coins of Dickens as Famous Author are beautifully designed.
Alice in wonderland is so full of wonder.
I love the Lewis Carrol stories they take you away into fantacy land.

I like the Sir Walter Scott coin which was made into a 3yr set. A brilliant set of 3
